Short Radius machines are perfect for urban and residential job sites, and their popularity continues to grow due to increasing demands for roadworks and utility maintenance. In response, Kobelco is excited to introduce two new Tier 3 models to its SR range: the SK225SR-7 and SK235SR-7. These models embody Kobelco’s Performance x Design philosophy, delivering exceptional performance, precise control, and outstanding stability and lifting capability, all while featuring a Tier 3 engine.

The SK225SR-7 and SK235SR-7 come equipped with a powerful Tier 3 engine that eliminates the need for a DPF or AdBlue. This engine provides 127 kW of power and delivers 22% more torque than previous models, resulting in enhanced efficiency. The absence of DPF and AdBlue reduces ownership and operational costs while minimizing downtime for maintenance.

With operating weights of 23.3 tonnes for the SK225SR-7 and 25 tonnes for the SK235SR-7, these machines offer precise operation thanks to their excellent controllability and smooth hydraulics. Optional heavy counterweights and a well-balanced chassis design enhance their lifting capacity, making them ideal for handling heavier tools and attachments.

The SR Series-7 models feature reinforced arm and bucket cylinders for increased digging power and durability. The arm’s plate thickness has been increased by 25%, making it 1.25 times stronger than the previous generation. The bucket cylinder has been upgraded with a larger flange and a rod side pin diameter increased from 80 mm to 85 mm.

Aligned with Kobelco’s Performance x Design concept, the SK225SR-7 and SK235SR-7 also boast an enhanced cabin design with improved ergonomics and safety features. The Kobelco-branded Grammer air suspension seat, which moves in tandem with the armrests and hydraulic controls, reduces operator fatigue, provides excellent shock absorption, and ensures superior ride comfort.
